Class Overview

First Shot: Intro Handgun is designed for new or inexperienced handgun owners who need a safe, structured start. This course builds the handling, marksmanship, and manipulation habits required to begin training with confidence. The focus is on safe gun handling, practical fundamentals, and establishing a foundation that supports future performance-based classes.

Prerequisites

  • Range Ready or equivalent Tombstone safety/orientation clearance

  • no prior handgun experience required

Minimum Gear Requirements

  • handgun in safe working order

  • 120 rounds of ammunition, 100 minimum

  • 2 magazines minimum, 4 recommended

  • eye protection

  • ear protection

  • brimmed hat

  • closed-toe shoes

  • weather-appropriate clothing

  • water to drink

Recommended

  • small range bag

  • notebook and pen

Not Required

  • holster

  • magazine pouches

Course Notes

  • Students must follow all range commands and safety procedures at all times.

  • Unsafe gun handling, repeated command violations, or reckless behavior may result in removal from class without refund.

  • Students are responsible for bringing functional equipment and serviceable ammunition.

  • Ammunition requirements are approximate and may vary slightly based on class pace and remediation needs.

  • This course is focused on safe handling and practical fundamentals, not speed or advanced manipulation.

  • All required waivers must be completed prior to training.

Cancellation / Refund Policy

  • Public classes are not eligible for refund within 30 days of the scheduled course date.

  • If cancellation is requested more than 30 days before the scheduled course date, the student will receive class credit for a future course.

  • If Tombstone Gun Range / Righteous Savages reschedules a course, the 30-day window shifts to the new scheduled date.

  • No refunds will be issued for no-shows.
